When my mom calls first thing in the morning, I usually think one of two things; ONE that she is calling to tell me where the speed traps are that morning, or TWO there is some bad news coming my way.

Today, unfortunately, it was the latter. My cousin died last night. What makes this situation so tragic is the fact that this guy was a wonderful kid, recently turned his life around and he was very young – 22. I’m pretty baffled by the whole thing. To think that life is just that closely related to death is terrifying. These kinds of things happen every day, accidents that you think are far fetched or easily avoided, death pervades life every minute… and that’s just what makes life so important. God. This is hard to wrap my head around.

Just send your thoughts towards my cousin and his family. This is going to be a very tough weekend for them.
